Miso Salmon Belly

Miso Salmon Belly

TIPS

  • You can cook your salmon using an air fryer or traditional oven. If using the oven, be sure to use a heavy-duty metal baking sheet. Avoid glass bakeware, especially under the broiler, as it may shatter from high heat.
  • Cook times can vary depending on your oven model and the thickness of the salmon. Monitor closely to avoid overcooking or burning.
  • For best results, use an instant-read thermometer to ensure your fish is cooked through. Cooking seafood can feel intimidating, but a thermometer removes the guesswork. Any food-safe model will do, though we recommend the Thermapen MK4 for its accuracy and speed.

AIR FRY

1. Line the air fryer basket with foil or parchment paper for easy clean up.

2. Wipe off excess sauce to prevent burning.

3. Place belly strips in a single layer, skin-side down. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.

4. Cook at 400°F for 14-16 minutes

OVEN BAKE & BROIL

1. Pre-heat oven to 400°F

2. While oven is heating, remove the fillets from the refrigerator, wipe off the excess sauce, and place the belly strips in a single layer, skin side down on a foil lined baking sheet (the marinade will quickly burn under the broiler so try to remove as much excess as possible).

3. Bake at 400°F for 12-14 minutes.

4. Once done baking, broil on top rack for 2-4 minutes until golden brown. Watch closely; sauce will caramelize quickly.
